Neue Heilbronner Chalet at 2,320 m

The Neue Heilbronner Chalet is located in a quiet side valley amidst the impressive alpine scenery of the Verwall mountains. The Zeinisjoch, close to the Kops Reservoir, is the ideal starting point for a hiking or mountain bike tour up to the Neue Heilbronner Chalet at 2,320 m, where an eBike charging station, a Kneipp pond and a climbing wall are available.

The chalet is a partner business of “So schmecken die Berge” (“This is what mountain life tastes like”). It offers traditional cooking with delicacies from the Montafon. The home-made lemonades, chalet fondue and vegan dishes are new. The delicious home-made strudel variations are particularly popular. 

Landlady Olivia: She was meant to be a restaurateur 
Landlady Olivia Immler took over the Neue Heilbronner Chalet in 2019 from her parents Fredi and Angelika after they had run it for over 40 years. She grew up in the chalet and had a fantastic play area right on the doorstep in the great outdoors. “Back then, we were still open in winter. There was so much snow that we could toboggan down from the second floor. In summer, we used to bake mud pies and sell them to the guests,” she says, laughing heartily. “I had a wonderful childhood at the Neue Heilbronner Chalet and I’m very happy to still be living in this magnificent mountain scenery,” the 36 year-old reminisces, her eyes gleaming with joy. She says she was born into the passion for the restaurant trade and energetically supported her parents during many summers.

Her family has her back
After having her daughter Lea, Olivia had another child, a baby boy, which meant she had plenty to take care of. She is therefore very grateful that her parents still help her with the workload at the chalet. Her mother, Angelika, can be found in the kitchen, where she conjures up her famous apple strudel, amongst other dishes. Her father, Fredi, is responsible for the breakfast service. In the peak season, there are usually 80 to 100 overnight guests a day. 

Homeland
The Neue Heilbronner Chalet is open from the middle of June to the beginning of October. During this time, the chalet not only serves as a means of subsistence but also offers love and passion. “When I was younger and somebody asked me where my home was, I always answered: My home is at the Neue Heilbronner Chalet,” Olivia explains her close bond to the place. “I am happy for each day that I can spend up here and would love to pass that on to my children.”
